I was taken to the shelter by the only family I had ever known. They said they wanted to get a younger dog. Younger dog??? I'm barely 6-years-old. That's not old at all. I still have lots and lots of years left. Some bassets live to be 16. My family got me when I was a pup. Now, I'm no longer of use to them. That really hurts my feelings. I don't understand it. I'm a perfect, handsome gentleman with great house manners. I'm sweet, quiet, and affectionate. All I need now is a loving family who will appreciate I don't have the issues that young pups have. I would like a doggie bed to lay my head on and all the treats I can beg for. That's not too much to ask for, is it? I'm looking forward to a long, happy future. Will it be with you?
