Basset Hound : : Female Learn more about the Basset Hound.
Winnie is extremely friendly and has a pep to her step despite her pitiful health condition. Poor Winnie has had a rough life. She was picked up as a stray. From the looks of her, she must have been breeding stock for a puppy mill. They couldn't use her for breeding any more so she was dumped in the country. How very, very sad. From the look of her, we know she's had countless litters. For her health sake, our vet will be doing a tummy tuck on her when able. She has a horrible yeast infection all over her. We must attend to that first. I bet when we get her taken care of, she'll be feeling so much better. BRAT is hoping to make the years she has left the best ones she's ever had. Her surgery will cost over $2,000. If you're able to help, it'd be most welcome. Please click the Sponsorship link under her picture. Or pay via PayPal on our Web site at www.bassetrescueacrosstexas.org. FOSTER UPDATE: Winnie has had her surgery on 9/26/11. It was 7 hours long and she looks like a completely different dog. Scroll below to see the before and after photos. She's now ready to go to her forever home. Her foster family states she's an incredibly smart dog and is potty trained. She's a love bug and loves to crawl up in your lap. She gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with them. All her medical conditions have been cured and she's in good health. Will you be the lucky family to give her the best life she so richly deserves?
