Puddles was surrendered by her owner after they could no longer care for her due to having a young child and another special needs dog. The prior owners considered euthanizing Puddles, but BRAT stepped in to give this sweet girl a chance at a better life. After arriving to BRAT yesterday, Puddles was taken to see our vet in Plano, TX and this poor girl has a long list of ailments. Puddles has been blind since she was 2 years old and will be seeing a specialist at the Veterinary Eye Institute of Dallas to see if additional care is needed. In addition, Puddles has Grade 4 dental disease, a mass on her right hock and a mass on her left axel area, and she is very overweight (body score is 8-9 and normal is 4-5).
